The role involves developing scalable services, enforcing code quality standards, coaching engineers, and partnering with product and DevOps teams. Requires extensive PHP experience, expertise in Laravel and Symfony, knowledge of distributed systems, AWS, Docker, and fluent English. The position is remote and involves on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Design high-performance distributed systems for global traffic
- Develop scalable and efficient services
- Transition towards service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Enforce code quality standards and best practices
- Coach engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize caching and database strategies
- Partner with Product and DevOps teams to create technical roadmaps
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional backend development experience in PHP
- Expertise in Laravel and Symfony
- Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns like SQS or Pub/Sub
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL including performance tuning and handling transactions at scale
- Experience architecting on AWS and managing containerized environments with Docker
- Fluent English
