Safarimarket is a local travel shop operated by Scandinavian Travel Group (STG), specializing in selling activities and experiences in Lapland for visitors to Levi. With over 20 years of experience, we provide expert and customer-oriented service in a multicultural environment. Workplace and Conditions - Location: Levi, Lapland (Safarimarket / STG office) - Office language: English - Customer languages: Excellent spoken and written English skills. Knowledge of Finnish and other languages is a significant advantage. - Working hours: Full-time, flexible winter working hours (by agreement) - Contract period: 5-month fixed-term employment from 1.11.2026 to 31.3.2027 Responsibilities - Daily scheduling and activity planning: Updating and organizing daily activities in the reservation system, ensuring availability. - Customer service and sales: Serving on-site customers, online sales, social media inquiries, travel agency sales, and group sales. - Communication with local partners: Contact with activity providers and service partners regarding daily sales reports, last-minute requests, and operational updates. - Reception team work: Daily teamwork and operational activities with other reception staff. Delegation, motivation, and maintaining team spirit during peak seasons. - Customer materials: Preparing and printing customer materials, updating reception displays, digital screens, and other customer-facing content. - Proactive planning: Staying ahead of operational activities by monitoring and preparing for upcoming weeks. Requirements and Ideal Candidate - At least 1 year of experience in a similar role in the travel industry in Finland/Scandinavia, OR at least 1 year of experience in customer service and sales in retail. - IT and reservation system skills: Proficient use of Bokun (or similar), Travius, Outlook email, Microsoft Office applications, and daily reporting platforms (full training provided for all systems). - Sales-oriented mindset, proactive approach to offering activities and upselling, and understanding capacity limits to avoid overbooking. - Punctual, reliable, highly self-disciplined, with keen attention to detail. - Friendly, calm, and solution-oriented approach towards customers and partners. - Local knowledge and familiarity with Lapland: Understanding of Lapland’s culture, nature, and tourism products to give authentic recommendations. - Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in time-critical and busy situations. - Experience in team leadership is a significant advantage. 1. SALARY AND BENEFITS Type of contract and basis This is a fixed-term employment. The fixed-term nature is legally justified by the highly seasonal nature of Lapland’s winter tourism industry. Base salary and included working hours - Contract type: Fixed monthly salary. - Monthly base salary: To be discussed during the interview. - Included working hours: The base salary covers an average of 37.54 hours per week (approximately 160 hours per month). Additional pay (paid on top of base salary): - Sunday and holiday work: According to Finnish working time law, all hours worked on Sundays or official public holidays are paid at 100% premium (double pay). - Evening and night work: Paid according to the current Service Industry Collective Agreement (TES) for program services. Overtime and working time balancing period Due to seasonal fluctuations, we apply the Finnish Working Time Act and the Service Industry TES’s working time balancing period. Your working hours will be balanced over the entire 5-month contract period instead of weekly, allowing flexibility: more hours during the busy winter weeks and fewer during quieter times. Seasonal performance bonus After the winter season, a seasonal performance bonus may be available (details and performance metrics will be discussed upon signing the employment contract). 2. ANNUAL LEAVE AND SICK PAY - Accumulation of annual leave: 2 days/month in the first year. - Sick pay: Full salary during the applicable period according to the Travel Agency TES. 3. WHAT WE OFFER - Accommodation: Private room in Levi area can be arranged. Rent offered at a competitive rate and managed through a separate sublease agreement tied to full calendar months. - Transport: Free use of company cars for commuting between accommodation and Levi office, subject to schedule and vehicle availability. - Connections: Work phone and Finnish SIM card (unlimited domestic calls, messages, and internet). - Workwear: Guide equipment. Insurance (paid by the company): - Accident insurance during working hours - Additional leisure accident insurance - Additional health insurance 4. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS - Ski pass: Access to a shared season pass for Levi slopes. Personal season pass can be arranged at a special price. - Fitness: Personal membership to a local gym in Levi can be arranged. - Lifestyle: Local employee discounts at selected restaurants and shops (Levi Pass 515%). - Flexibility: Flexible working hours outside peak season. 5. CONTRACT DURATION AND EARLY TERMINATION - Fixed-term employment from 1.11.2026 to 31.3.2027. - Probation period: Up to 8 weeks, during which either party can terminate the contract immediately without reason, not on discriminatory grounds. - Early termination: After probation, the contract binds both parties until 31.3.2027.
