We are seeking a relief nurse for a permanent position in HUS Children's Psychiatry. The work mainly involves two-shift work on weekdays. As agreed and as needed, the work may also include weekend and night shifts. The relief nurse's duties include covering sudden absences across all children's psychiatry wards. The home ward is the children's psychiatry emergency department. The work begins on July 1, 2026, or by agreement. All three children's psychiatry wards are located in Töölö, Helsinki. The children's psychiatry emergency department treats children under 13 years old suspected or diagnosed with severe mental health disorders. The ward is responsible for monitoring and involuntary treatment under the Mental Health Act for both HUS and ERVA regions. The ward operates 24/7. The children's psychiatry day and treatment wards provide planned care. The treatment ward functions as a full-time ward, and the day ward treats children on weekdays (Mon-Fri) without overnight stays. Experience in psychiatric nursing or children's mental health work, as well as family and network-centered working methods, are advantageous. Good communication and collaboration skills, as well as an independent work approach, are required. The nurse plays a vital role in helping both the child and their family achieve treatment goals. The nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with the child's close contacts and networks, such as schools and child protection services. Qualifications for the position: - Licensed nurse. - The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act (770/1993), section 6, paragraph 2, for working with children. - We require vaccination against infectious diseases for those working in customer and patient areas, and a health status report regarding tuberculosis for healthcare workers.
