Hämeen Setlementti ry is a multidisciplinary organization established in 1997 operating in Kanta-Häme, part of the international settlement movement and a member of the national Suomen Setlementtiliitto ry. We are politically and religiously independent. The organization's mission is to support participation, create opportunities for activity, and influence society. Hämeen Setlementti emphasizes multicultural approaches, volunteer work, and the development of civic activities. We employ approximately 15 professionals across Kanta-Häme. We are currently seeking reinforcement for our youth workshop, Duunaamo. We offer part-time work (about 15 hours/week, approximately 40% of full-time). The role suits various life situations but requires strong professional expertise in the young adult segment and prevention of social exclusion. Duunaamo is a coaching workshop in Hämeenlinna that focuses on the resources and potential of young people. The core activities include community building, daily life management, functional capacity, social empowerment, development of study and work skills, and future planning. The target group consists of young adults aged 17–28 who are outside of education and employment. The workshop activities are based on youth law, and the primary task of the instructor is to enable and implement the objectives of youth law within the workshop. Practically, the workshop aims to strengthen interaction skills, provide coaching for daily life management, and identify and recognize individual resources and skills through various methods. The activities also include visits, company tours, regular outdoor activities, and employment coaching related to future planning. We expect you to have the ability to engage with young people in different life situations. Additionally, we value good group leadership, interaction, and teamwork skills. You should have strong professional ethics, good organizational skills, and the courage to contact different parties across sectors. The ability to work independently, plan activities, and maintain a solution-oriented and positive attitude is also important. The role requires a suitable professional qualification or extensive experience, especially working with NEET youth. The position also demands initiative, tolerance for uncertainty, the ability to see the bigger picture, perseverance, and adaptability to rapidly changing situations. It is a plus if you possess skills or knowledge that could be beneficial for young people. We operate under the social sector collective agreement (TES). Salary is based on TES Group 5. The employment is temporary, from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2026, with a possibility of extension into spring (until 30 April 2027) depending on co-financing. The primary work location is Hämeenlinna City Hall, Palokunnankatu 16, 13100 Hämeenlinna. You will work alongside a supervisor who also performs operational tasks and students. The rest of the team consists of other Hämeen Setlementti professionals.
