Freelance Translator and Language Reviewer English–Swedish (EU) - Lingsoft Language Services Oy - Turku, Finland

Lingsoft is the primary provider of translations into Finnish and Swedish for the European Commission and the European Parliament. We also deliver translations for the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the Court of Auditors, and the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union. We are currently seeking translators and language reviewers for translation and proofreading tasks from English to Swedish for our EU clients. We also regularly provide translations from French, German, Italian, and Spanish into Swedish, so proficiency in any of these languages is an advantage. We offer interesting assignments across various specialized fields. You will receive a thorough introduction and regular feedback on your work. We organize training and provide support regarding tools, translation, post-editing, and language management. We are a reliable Finnish client with over 30 years of experience in EU translations and collaboration with different institutions. We expect you to have: Previous experience in translating and/or proofreading documents from the European Parliament, European Commission, or other public administration organizations; Studies in the field or other relevant educational background (e.g., translation studies, linguistics, economics, or political science); Excellent knowledge of Swedish (studies in Swedish are considered an advantage); A company, business, or the ability to invoice via an invoicing service; Good information retrieval skills; Ability to use the translation tool Trados Studio; Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges; Initiative and good problem-solving skills; Accuracy, speed, and flexibility.
