We are now looking for an experienced and skilled Chief Accountant for our headquarters in Helsinki Pitäjänmäki. The position is full-time, permanent, with the possibility of partial remote work. You will report to the Finance Manager. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the accuracy and quality of the accounting of our four Finnish group companies. You will lead an efficient team including a second experienced chief accountant and members of our service center in Poland. As a chief accountant, you will not only handle numbers but also serve as a key expert, creative problem solver, and process developer within our organization. You will ensure data reliability and that our reporting accurately reflects our business. You have extensive experience and deep understanding of comprehensive accounting and accounts receivable, including financial statements, VAT and taxation matters, and fixed asset accounting. The role also involves international cooperation related to group accounting reporting. You will act as an advisor on business and functional needs and participate in projects such as payroll and accounting reconciliation, as well as process improvement. You will serve as the SAP system administrator and utilize other systems and IT skills to improve reporting and processes. You will communicate fluently in English, as you will regularly collaborate with our service center in Poland, providing guidance and support. We are looking for someone with strong professional skills, a problem-solving attitude, and a desire to develop our operations. To succeed in this role: - You have a relevant university degree and/or solid experience in responsible accounting roles, including independent financial statement preparation. - You are an experienced and skilled IT user, especially proficient in Excel, and familiar with SAP, ideally at an administrator level. - You communicate effectively in both Finnish and English, both verbally and in writing. - You are proactive, solve problems independently, and work efficiently under time pressure. - You enjoy teamwork, confidently share your expertise, and are willing to support your team.
