Full-time Substitute Teacher (Special Class Teacher), Kerimäki School - Savonlinnan kaupunki - Savonlinna, Finland

Kerimäki School is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9 with approximately 280 students. It is located in Savonlinna, in the center of Kerimäki village, offering students a nature-oriented learning environment and services within walking distance. We are seeking a full-time substitute teacher (special class teacher) for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Applicants should have strong skills in supporting new learning, functional teaching methods, and electronic learning environments, as well as utilizing the curriculum and a diverse assessment culture based on multiple evidence in teaching. Good teamwork skills are also required. Experience in integrating special needs students into mainstream classes is considered an advantage. Additionally, willingness to develop and implement flexible teaching arrangements and collaborate across grades and subjects in accordance with the basic education curriculum (OPS) is required. Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/1998). Employment terms follow the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). The position includes a four (4) month probation period. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by law (504/2002, Section 3), before starting the position.
