Kylmäkoski Prison is a closed facility with 113 beds, where inmates serving sentences, pre-trial detainees, and fine defaulters are held. The prison is located in Akaa along the Tampere-Turku highway (road no. 9). Our operations are based on safety, customer-oriented work approach, and open and active communication. We perform impactful close work and various rehabilitative activities to prevent recidivism. As a supervisor, you will work in the prison’s work activities, which aim to support inmates in changing towards a crime-free life. In work activities, inmates are active participants, and we continuously develop these activities to offer meaningful engagement to more inmates. Your tasks include supervising work activities that require craftsmanship, such as assembly work and sewing and textile tasks. As a supervisor, you are responsible for guiding inmates in their work, monitoring, and organizing tasks. You will plan meaningful and activity-supporting programs for inmates, direct the execution of work, and ensure that work methods and safety instructions are implemented with quality and in accordance with regulations. You will evaluate inmates’ work and record observations in the system. Your work includes designing and developing work methods, quality control, and procurement and maintenance of materials and tools. You will plan tasks purposefully and timely, and ensure compliance with fire and occupational safety regulations within the team. You will work closely with other staff involved in work activities, and your work supports the achievement of the goals in the inmates’ sentence plans.
