Job Description
To promote equality and non-discrimination, the City of Savonlinna conducts this recruitment anonymously. In practice, this means that the recruitment process proceeds to interview selection without knowing the applicant's identity. The goal of anonymous recruitment is to focus on the applicant's professional skills and work experience. To maintain anonymity, avoid including identifiable information about yourself in the free text fields. Instead, tell us about your skills, work experience, and strengths — this is what matters most to us! Savonlinna's land use services are an important part of urban development, planning, and supporting the city's land policy. About 20 people work in land use services. Our work community is small and friendly, with diverse tasks and opportunities for professional growth as experience is gained. The duties of the Land Use Secretary include general office tasks related to land use services, customer service and advice, assisting in the preparation of land use projects, decisions, and reports, as well as invoicing, especially land lease invoicing. These are not routine office tasks; the work requires the ability to grasp broad land use issues. We require applicants to have at least a suitable higher education degree and experience with common office software and good IT skills. The employer will provide training in necessary GIS and planning software if the applicant does not have prior experience. Experience in land use processes and planning projects, municipal administration, land use legislation, and real estate is considered an advantage. The applicant should be capable of independent and proactive work, be organized, and possess good cooperation and negotiation skills. The role requires smooth collaboration with different units. We offer an interesting and diverse job, a supportive and professional work community, and the possibility of partial remote work. We also provide comprehensive employee benefits, including free access to the city swimming hall and gym, as well as a benefit that can be used for sports, culture, or massage. A well-being employee is important to us! The local level salary for the Land Use Secretary is €2724.53/month. Additional experience-based pay may be provided. The employment terms are governed by the Local Government Collective Agreement (KVTES). The position includes a six (6) month probation period. The work begins on August 3, 2026, or as agreed.
