Youth Worker for Mobile Youth Work - Jyväskylän kaupunki - Remote - Global

The youth worker role primarily involves educational work with young people aged 13-29. The job includes engaging and guiding youth in mobile youth work activities and group work across various content areas. The work is mainly in the evenings and includes weekends, with at least 3-4 evening shifts per week. The work is guided by the Youth Act and involves traveling around the city to areas without permanent youth service facilities. The goal is to offer meaningful leisure activities in rural areas and create safe meeting places with adult presence for young people. The role includes cooperation with schools and participation in youth events, especially during summer, with activities mainly from Tuesday to Saturday. The team is part of Jyväskylä's expanded outreach youth work, supporting youth growth and well-being. The position offers good orientation and support, emphasizing well-being, peer support, supervision, and training opportunities. The required qualification is a relevant higher education degree or previous college-level qualification, experience in mobile youth work, and a B-driver's license with readiness to drive a camper van. The role demands a pedagogical, developmental, open, and positive approach, with strong planning, cooperation, communication, and interaction skills. The work involves independent and proactive work in changing environments, working with professionals in networks or teams. The salary is 2841.05 €/month, with a maximum of 8% experience allowance based on KVTES. The workweek is 38.25 hours, starting from September 1, 2026, or as agreed. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract not older than six months before starting.
