Greetings from the manager: “We are commissioning the most advanced biorefinery in Leuna worldwide. In our state-of-the-art, fully automated production facilities, you will produce biochemicals from sustainably harvested deciduous wood for manufacturing recyclable everyday items and materials. UPM invests in sustainable chemistry of tomorrow – and in you.” – Falko Keck, Production Manager What you will do: During the project and construction phase: Collaborate closely with the engineering team and familiarize yourself with production processes and equipment. Contribute to safety concept development, build production processes, plan and commission the plant, manage personnel planning, and support recruitment, development, and operator training. From production start: Monitor and operate production equipment and independently control production processes in shift operation. Lead, motivate, and develop the shift team. Ensure quality, quantity, and schedule targets and compliance with environmental, safety, and order standards. Coordinate and support maintenance, standby, and downtime planning. Participate in optimization projects and support troubleshooting and damage cases. Ensure information flow and act as a central contact for production planning, external partners, and emergency management (also outside day shifts). What you bring: Completed training as an industrial master (m/w/d) in chemistry or equivalent experience, plus several years of experience in the chemical industry. Assertiveness, high flexibility, and resilience. Good team and communication skills. Logical, analytical, and structured working style. Strong chemical-technical understanding. Experience in team leadership and positive management qualities. Business acumen and experience with QLS and PLS systems.
