Software Engineer - IFS - Remote - Global

The ESM Centre of Excellence, operating under IT@IFS, is seeking a proactive and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Software Engineer. The Software Engineer for the ESM Application is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ESM platform features and integrations. This role involves customising workflows, scripting automation, and ensuring the platform aligns with ITIL best practices and business requirements. The engineer collaborates with analysts, administrators, and system engineers within the team to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. Together with the IFS Global business process owners and specialists, we develop multidisciplinary and customer-driven global solutions driving towards a scalable and agile solution for the future. Key Responsibilities include developing and enhancing the ESM application, designing, building, and maintaining custom modules, workflows, and scripts, implementing automation and orchestration, creating automated solutions, developing and maintaining integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, conducting testing and debugging, maintaining technical documentation, participating in agile development, supporting platform upgrades and releases, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring junior developers, and demonstrating a growth mindset. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field, proficiency in JavaScript or GlideScript, experience with ESM and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy), familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, understanding of Agile/Scrum, experience with version control systems, and exposure to CI/CD pipelines. Soft skills required are strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, willingness to learn, team-oriented mindset, and adaptability. Desirable qualifications include ITIL Foundation and ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
