The youth psychiatry unit at Kainuu Central Hospital is part of the mental health and addiction services. The unit consists of a five-bed ward and a outpatient clinic. The youth psychiatry services are located in Building E at Kainuu Central Hospital. We are seeking a psychologist for a temporary position in the youth psychiatry team due to parental leave, from August 3, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The primary workplace is the youth psychiatry ward, but the psychologist will also see clients as needed at the outpatient clinic. Main duties include psychological assessments and examinations of patients. The psychologist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team with young people, their families, and various networks. Qualifications include a licensed master's degree in psychology. Experience working with youth and families in mental health services at a youth psychiatry ward and relevant additional training are considered an advantage. Good communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, and a development-oriented attitude are required. Knowledge of various psychological research methods is also beneficial. The candidate must have vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act. Salary is based on the job complexity assessment confirmed by Kainuu Welfare Area.
