Job Description
Lahti Folk High School is seeking a project worker / Finnish language teacher for the "Työstetään suomea" project. The goal of the project is to promote employment opportunities for women with immigrant backgrounds by providing them with high-quality, practical training. The project combines Finnish language studies, workplace skills, and personal guidance. Target groups include employed women, women studying or holding a degree in higher education, and other immigrant women who have exceeded the integration period. The work is part-time, averaging 20 hours per week. During the project (autumn 2026 to autumn 2027), a total of six short-term training sessions will be conducted: three 14-week short courses (8 hours of teaching per week) and three 2-week intensive courses (20 hours of teaching per week). The courses are primarily planned to be held in the evenings and/or on weekends to enable participation by working individuals and students. The aim is to create a model that can be utilized in similar training in the future. We are looking for a worker who will serve both as a Finnish language teacher and as the practical leader of the project. They will have primary responsibility for the implementation of the project from start to finish. This role offers the opportunity to influence the development and outcomes of the project. The work is independent and responsible, suitable for someone who enjoys having a real impact. Requirements include a relevant higher university degree and pedagogical studies, experience in S2 teaching, an independent and proactive work attitude, ability to plan and organize work independently, and good communication and collaboration skills.
