The role may involve preparing high school students for exams or assisting adult learners in improving their language fluency. Previous teaching experience or experience in private tutoring is considered an advantage, but the most important qualities are confidence in teaching, good interaction skills, and a desire to help others develop. Proficiency in Finnish is required. The work is flexible and usually scheduled in the afternoons or evenings, with timings agreed upon independently with clients. Lessons can take place at the student’s or tutor’s home, in libraries, or online.
