Job Description

The vitality services of the City of Ylivieska, as the employer, are responsible for the city's business interface services, projects, and regional development work. Our activities focus on collaboration with companies, various sectors, and stakeholders. The work of a Project Manager / Business Specialist combines strategic development tasks, practical investigations, and the creation of concrete operational models to meet the needs of working life. The vitality services of the City of Ylivieska are seeking a project manager / business specialist for the SUUNTA+ project to develop smooth career paths and cooperation with working life in collaboration with educational providers and our companies. The project is two years long. The City of Ylivieska acts as the main implementer, and Jokilaakso Educational Consortium JEDU as a subcontractor. Project Content The purpose of the SUUNTA+ project is to create smoother, more anticipatory, and mutually beneficial career paths for students and companies, and to strengthen the long-term structures of regional cooperation with working life. In the project, among other things: - Improve the compatibility of vocational education and working life by developing sustainable cooperation models between educational institutions and companies. - Streamline students' career paths from education to working life by identifying, formulating, and piloting genuine, company-driven work tasks and internship models. - Strengthen companies' readiness to act as learning environments, especially through supervisory and management skills, onboarding, and workplace well-being practices. - Develop interaction between teachers and companies, e.g., through work placements and co-development, to better meet the real needs of working life. - Build operational models that will remain after the project to support companies' workforce availability, staff commitment, and regional vitality. In the role, you will: - Be responsible for the overall implementation, progress, and achievement of the project goals, monitoring, and reporting. - Lead and implement the practical execution of the work packages (WP1, WP3, WP4). - Organize the project's company cooperation, pilots, modeling, workshops, and training. - Coordinate collaboration between the main implementer and the subcontractor (JEDU). - Support project communication activities in cooperation with the communication officer. - Maintain cooperation with regional and national actors. We require the applicant to: - Understand regional vitality work and the role of educational organizations in vitality work. - Have experience in network-based development and stakeholder cooperation. - Hold a suitable higher education degree or other relevant qualification. - Possess strong communication, interaction, and facilitation skills. - Be proactive, initiative-taking, and development-oriented. - Have the ability to work at the interface of strategic development and practical implementation. - Have experience in project work and reporting. - Be willing to travel to different locations and have access to a car. Preferred qualifications: - Experience in developing municipal or educational organizations. - Experience in business or vitality services. - Experience in leading workshops, networks, and development forums. - Understanding of the skills and workforce needs of SMEs.
