Job Description

We are seeking a class teacher, primary location: Wäinö Aalto School. The position is temporary, from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. In this role, you will teach 3rd grade of basic education, including music lessons for several classes at our school, as well as accompanying and managing music performances at school events. Wäinö Aalto School is an elementary school with approximately 420 students in grades 1-6. Each grade level has one class that teaches in accordance with the CLIL method, including English language instruction. The school is named after the visual artist Wäinö Aalto. As a result, the school has strong traditions in arts and craft education. Wäinö Aalto School is located on the cozy Hirvensalo island, close to nature. Despite this, downtown Turku is only 5 km away, and public transportation provides easy access to the school. We offer new team members thorough orientation and collegial support, which have been appreciated. Qualifications are based on the decree on qualifications for teaching staff (986/1998). The selected candidate must provide a statement of health (KVhL 7 §) and a criminal record extract in accordance with section 6, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (2002/504). The employment relationship includes a trial period.
