Preparatory Education Additional Teacher 2 - Kajaanin kaupunki - Kajaani, Finland

We are seeking a preparatory education additional teacher for basic education in the city of Kajaani for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Preparatory supplementary education in basic education is provided by an additional support teacher. The support teacher provides language support and develops and organizes individual support for students. The instruction can be delivered as co-teaching or in small groups. The goal of the instruction is to support students' skills in reading, understanding, and interpreting texts in various subjects, as well as producing them. The teacher will teach at multiple schools within Kajaani's basic education system. We expect an enthusiastic and independent approach to work, as well as the ability to engage with primary school-aged students. Knowledge of teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, as well as familiarity with modern teaching tools and methods, and a proactive work attitude, are also valued. The salary is in accordance with OVTES. The salary for a qualified teacher is €3,220.91. The teaching obligation is 24 hours per week. Qualifications include a primary school teacher or subject teacher qualification (qualification requirements for education personnel, regulation no 986/1998). Certificates demonstrating qualifications will be checked during the interview process. If qualified applicants are not available, other candidates will be considered. Priority will be given to laid-off employees and those whose employment has been interrupted, provided they meet the qualification requirements.
