Job Description

Welcome to work in social services with clients in family social work and child protection, including open and residential care! The work is done in pairs, and we value both experienced professionals and those at the beginning of their careers. Our client numbers are limited, and statutory staffing ratios are observed. This team has very experienced staff, and the Sastamala team has traditionally enjoyed long tenures and returning employees. The region has a notably long tradition of cross-team collaboration. Sastamala has good public transportation options, accessible by train and bus. What does your workday include? - Conducting planned and relationship-based client work. - Making decisions on support measures. - Preparing applications and decisions related to child protection processes, such as residential care. - Meeting clients through home visits, office meetings, in residential units, and at partner organizations. - You can largely plan your own workweek, which may include remote work. Why choose us? - You will receive a structured training program, including regular law, methodology, and documentation training. - We offer regular mentoring groups for those early in their careers. - You will have a personal, planned orientation plan, with follow-up. - You will have a support team and colleagues who encourage and support you. - You can utilize legal services and consultation groups for difficult separation cases, family violence, disability services, and services for working-age adults. Additionally, we invest in staff well-being by offering benefits such as a lunch benefit with Epass, as well as sports, cultural, commuting, and well-being benefits that you can tailor to your preferences. Our occupational health services are provided at Pirte. Learn more about salaries and staff benefits: https://www.pirha.fi/tietoa-meista/toihin-meille/palkkaus-ja-henkilostoedut. The qualification requirement is a licensed social worker in Finland. The role requires good spoken and written Finnish skills, a valid B-class driver’s license, and access to a car. Experience in planned social work with families, child protection official work, assessments of social service needs for children requiring special support, and knowledge of systemic child protection work are considered an advantage. We expect from you: - A positive attitude and an active, customer-oriented approach. - Enthusiasm for developing your work. - Good communication skills with clients, supervisors, colleagues, and partners. If the position cannot be filled with a qualified applicant, it may be filled temporarily with an applicant who has a temporary license under Section 12 of the Social Welfare Professionals Act. The work begins on October 1, 2026, or by agreement. The probation period is six months. The working hours are 37 hours and 45 minutes per week. Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as per section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act, and health certificates required within one month of starting work. A pre-employment health check will be conducted at Pirte. Interested? For more information, contact the persons listed below. Submit your application via Kuntarekry. Join our team to do meaningful work for families! Interviews will be held on June 22, 2026, between 12:00 and 16:00. We will invite candidates for interviews based on applications. Please fill out your application carefully for each section.
