Technology and innovation careers - KONE Corporation We are now looking for a Senior Engineer, Mechanics, R&D Value Engineering to join one of the Elevator mechanics and Mechanics & Materials Tribe agile teams for designing mechanical load bearing components and mechanical sub-systems at KONE Technology and Innovation / R&D in Hyvinkää, Finland. Our tribe works in a hybrid model, 3-4 days/week in the office in Hyvinkää and couple of days a week remotely. Please notice that this role requires the selected candidate to live permanently in Finland. Elevator Mechanics & Materials tribe is responsible for developing all mechanical elevator components in KONE portfolio globally and ensuring the safety, quality and performance of those components throughout their entire lifecycle. We are actively scouting for opportunities to create new value for our customers by implementing new innovative and more sustainable elevator designs throughout Value Engineering. Senior Engineer, Mechanics has a crucial role in executing the added customer value. As a Senior Engineer, Mechanics, you will -Be passionate for design activities within the component portfolio of your agile team -Be R&D value engineering process and engineering aspects setter for the mechanical engineers in your agile team -Contribute and drive new design and change initiatives and designs forward within the global organization with Value Engineering mindset -Collaborate closely with the other Elevator Mechanics tribe agile teams and members in R&D component creation projects for new elevator products in Hyvinkää, Finland -Collaborate closely with other R&D tribes and parallel functions globally. -Cooperate with KONE factory, suppliers and supply chain to ensure smooth engineering and delivery structures for sub-systems -Be part of KTI project development activities to ensure quality, safety, and cost competitiveness of elevator products throughout Value Engineering and cost awareness To be successful in this position, you will -strong machine design, 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings creation skills -be able to independently work with new mechanical designs and change request initiatives in the organization -possess a curious mindset and a strong desire to bring customer benefit with cost-optimized solutions -have capability to plan and drive things forward and do own design solutions in parallel with several simultaneous projects. -be capable of reviewing designs, programming scripts, improving manufacturing drawings, collaborate and think innovative ways when guiding other mechanical engineers during their work Requirements for the role - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and having 5+ years work experience - Understanding mechanical drawings, design criteria for load bearing structures and cost- friendly manufacturing methods and product structures - Experienced user of 3D modelling software, such as, Creo - Experienced user of Windchill, VariPDM and PDMVC tools - Experienced user of MS Office tools, such as, Excel and Word - Proven skills in delivering good results on time even in complex cases within tight schedules - Capability to lead in a fast-paced environment - Disciplined working methods with willingness and ability to contribute, lead and work as a member of an international design team - Passion for great service / customer experience / cost-friendly solutions - Fluent in written and spoken English
