Job Description
We are looking for a unit manager for the new Validia House in Vihdi, which will open at the end of the year. It is a demanding service unit with 18 places, supporting clients with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders in daily life – individually and professionally. The unit has been designed from the outset to meet the needs of clients requiring intensive support, which is reflected in both the spatial solutions and the overall operational planning. You will initiate the operations of the new unit from scratch, build functional daily routines, practices, and organizational culture with the team, lead a workforce of about 30–40 employees, and be responsible for the quality, smoothness, and development of operations. You will act as a coaching supervisor for staff. The work requires good organization and the ability to implement plans, but also a desire to motivate and engage the team towards a common goal. Requirements include a degree in social and health care (AMK), experience in supervisory roles, experience in disability services, ability to lead change and build new structures, and a systematic and goal-oriented work approach. Experience in launching a new unit and working with demanding client groups is valued. You are an encouraging and coaching leader who can set clear guidelines but is also approachable. You can operate amidst uncertainty and drive initiatives forward decisively. You motivate your team and foster a trusting atmosphere in daily work. Why choose us? You will have the support of a strong network of experts and colleagues, ready-made training paths and support for skill development, support from a psychologist and an expert working group, and opportunities for professional growth and continuous development. We also offer comprehensive employment benefits, such as Epassi benefits (culture, sports, and commuting) and accident insurance during free time. The work begins by agreement in September-October. The application deadline is August 2. Please attach an up-to-date CV and your salary expectations to the application form. The form also includes preliminary questions and a video application, where you can tell about yourself. Initial interviews will be held on Thursday, August 6, so please reserve this day in your calendar. In the final stages of the recruitment process, we will use the Refapp application for reference checks and conduct a suitability assessment to find the best fit for our unit. Please note that the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract required for working with persons with disabilities. For more information about the position, contact Regional Manager Outi Kivelä during office hours on Fri, July 3, 8-10 am, and Tue, July 21, 9-11 am, at +358 44 765 1493 or via email at outi.kivela@validia.fi.
