Welcome to work in addiction services! Are you interested in working as a patient coordinator for the Addiction Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Unit? The Addiction Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Unit treats adult patients who need 24-hour care to withdraw from substance use. The purpose of the treatment is to stop long-term substance use, treat withdrawal symptoms, and create a basis for rehabilitation. We implement alcohol and drug detoxes, starts and ends of opioid substitution treatments, and changes of substitution drugs in the wards. The Addiction Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Unit is located in the Laakso Hospital area. We are now looking for an active, self-motivated nurse with good cooperation and interaction skills for a permanent patient coordinator position. Work is done on weekdays during office hours. The patient coordinator's work includes, among other things, assessment of care needs, booking and coordination of withdrawal care places, assessment of withdrawal care needs in child protection units in cooperation with a doctor, and home detox together with the nurses and doctor of the Addiction Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Unit. Eligibility requirement: Bachelor of Nursing degree or previous college-level degree or specialist nursing degree or public health nurse or midwife degree, which includes legalization as a registered nurse. The position requires legalization in Finland according to the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/1994, 1200/2007). Language requirement: good oral and satisfactory written skills in Finnish. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The person selected for the position must present a certificate regarding a drug test to the employer before the employment begins. Before the selection decision, the applicant must present an assessment from occupational health care on their ability to perform the tasks included in the work. The position requires the successful completion of the LOP/LOVe LOP medication permit no later than during the probationary period.
