Job Description
African Care ry is seeking a wellbeing coordinator for activities funded by STEA, aimed at strengthening the wellbeing and participation of women who have moved to Finland and their families. The coordinator's responsibilities include comprehensive coordination, development, and strategic planning of wellbeing activities, planning group activities with facilitators, communication and stakeholder work, as well as evaluation and reporting of activities. They are responsible for guiding peer facilitators, childcare workers, interns, and volunteers. Additionally, the coordinator will handle advocacy-related tasks, seek funding, and organize events and activities. The coordinator works closely with the wellbeing activity facilitator and is responsible for achieving the activity’s goals. We expect you to have project management skills and experience in project work and reporting, a positive attitude and enthusiasm for developing wellbeing activities, good organizational skills, excellent communication and teamwork skills, experience in multicultural work, at least two years of relevant work experience or equivalent proof, a suitable higher education degree (e.g., social sciences or social services, AMK social worker) or equivalent expertise, and excellent spoken and written Finnish skills. Additionally, we value experience with STEA funding and reporting tasks, knowledge of the NGO sector, experience in coordinating volunteer work, and proficiency in simple Finnish or other languages. The working hours are 38 hours per week, between 9:00 and 18:00. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. The workplace is at African Care’s office in Itäkeskus. Salary is based on the social sector organizations’ collective agreement. The position is fixed-term until early 2027, with the possibility of extension depending on continued funding. The work begins on Monday, August 10, with comprehensive orientation.
