School-specific description: At Ruusuvuori School, approximately 450 students in grades 6-9 study. We want to foster the idea that school is a safe and inspiring environment where everyone can be themselves. Strengthening students' agency is important to us. We aim to support the development of students' strengths and self-awareness and to advance whole-school thinking. Our school operates a model of work-based learning (Teppo), which offers all interested students the opportunity to study alternative ways during work placements alongside basic education. Work community description: The staff consists of 42 teachers, 13 guiding staff members, and student welfare personnel. All students are in subject-teaching systems. Our school’s diversity is enriched by three regional special classes. Development areas include language awareness, promotion of literacy, perseverance skills, and guidance on good behavior in accordance with ProKoulu activities. Our school is located in Korso, amidst diverse natural surroundings with good connections.
