Job Description
You already know what good building projects look like in the Tampere area. You are familiar with the actors, decision-making practices, and where projects succeed or fail. We are looking for an experienced construction project manager to strengthen our building projects in Tampere and support our growth in the region. You will influence significant projects, build customer relationships, and utilize your expertise broadly as a client representative. You will act as the client's representative throughout the project lifecycle, impacting both project execution and customer work development. The role can be tailored based on your experience and strengths. The role suits you if you know the Tampere region's actors, project practices, and decision-making culture. You want to combine the management of demanding construction projects with active customer work. You will leverage your local knowledge and networks in a visible role, supported by a strong expert organization. You will lead building construction projects from planning to implementation, manage costs, schedules, quality, and safety, and handle changes and risks. You will work closely with clients, designers, contractors, and authorities, especially in Tampere. You will actively meet clients and identify new assignment opportunities. You will prepare and submit bids with your team, participate in site visits, and oversee project phases as needed. You will work on diverse projects, from individual repairs to large new constructions. Local knowledge, trust, and the ability to push things forward in Tampere are directly reflected in success. You can leave your mark on regional projects. We hope you have a suitable technical education, such as a construction engineer, technician, or DI, with several years of experience in construction project management or construction supervision. You should be able to lead projects independently and take responsibility for the whole. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. You should have a natural approach to customer relations, build trust, and see new opportunities. Knowledge of the Tampere region's customer and stakeholder landscape is important. Fluent Finnish is required, and a B driver's license with the possibility to use your own car is preferred. Your background could also be in a client organization. The role is suitable if you want to utilize your experience more broadly and actively work with clients. It is an advantage if you have experience with demanding construction projects, supervision experience, FISE certifications, or other relevant training (e.g., safety card, moisture management). English language skills are also valued. We offer a responsible role where you can influence projects and clients in Tampere, the opportunity to utilize your local knowledge in an independent role, and a flexible hybrid work model with comfortable premises in Tampere and comprehensive employee benefits. Career opportunities in an international expert organization. At WSP, you will develop sustainable and safe built environments with experienced professionals. We are a multidisciplinary and international company built on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and trust.
