Afternoon Activity Coordinator - Huvikumpu ry - Porvoo, Finland

Huvikumpu ry is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated afternoon activity coordinator to join our energetic and sunny work team. Our new afternoon activity unit in Porvoo, starting in August 2026, needs a responsible and positive coordinator. Huvikumpu ry also organizes basic education afternoon activities in Helsinki at two different locations. A preferred colleague would be cheerful, energetic, and proactive. We expect our team member to be motivated to guide children in various activities, including crafts, excursions, and sports. We provide meaningful supervised activities for children daily, while also leaving space for play and outdoor free time. The work is diverse and rewarding, and we allocate time for planning through monthly and team meetings. The unit is supported by a coordinator and two service providers. The coordinator's tasks include planning, implementing, and guiding after-school activities for school children in collaboration with the rest of the team. The role also involves communication and cooperation with schools and parents. We follow theme-month and weekly program concepts to ensure engaging and varied activities for children. An important part of our quality afternoon activities is the free club activities, which are planned and implemented based on families' and children's wishes. We organize orientation days in August to support new employees in starting their work smoothly at Huvikumpu. Our staff is cared for by Terveystalo, and our team members are trained at least twice a year through training days. Additionally, we organize team-building days a few times a year; a healthy work community is very important to us. Suitable educational background for this role could include sports instructor, sports coordinator (AMK), morning and afternoon activity instructor, art teacher, practical nurse, social services student, youth and leisure instructor. Experience working with students requiring special support is considered an advantage. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract required for working with children.
