We are looking for a registered nurse interested in working with children and youth for the child welfare reception unit, Vaahteramäki ward. Vaahteramäki ward has 7 client places for children and youth placed urgently or as outpatient support. The ward's primary task is to assess the need for support for placed children and youth, assess the conditions for returning home and the possible need for foster care, and perform care and education tasks for placed children. The reception ward nurse's job description includes direct client work with children and youth, responsibility for the medication of the ward's clients, clarifying health issues, and cooperation with care providers. The nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team, which also includes the unit's responsible instructor, nine social instructors, a site-specific occupational therapist, and a unit-specific family therapist. The work includes working on the ward in client work as a pair with social instructors, pair work with the site's other nurse, and independent work. The nurse is also part of the reception unit's healthcare team, which includes nurses, occupational therapists, and a family therapist from both sites. The site's nurses support each other's work and substitute for each other. We value experience working with children and youth, experience in child welfare and assessment work, and proficiency in using the Apotti client recording system. We expect good interaction and community skills, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. The work requires good stress tolerance, self-direction, the ability to make independent decisions, and skills to work as part of a team. A driver's license and willingness to drive a car are considered an advantage. In the children and youth reception unit, there are a total of four 24-hour reception wards and a reception family unit. At the Tammirinteentie site in Seutula, the children and youth assessment ward Vaahteramäki and the children's reception ward Terhola are located. At the Liljatien site in Tikkurila's Viertola, two youth reception wards and a reception family unit are located.
