Job Description
Would you like to teach art in a versatile and development-oriented environment where you can genuinely influence the content and methods of teaching? Ii-opisto is seeking a full-time teacher of crafts and arts for a substitute position for the academic year 2026-2027, from 24 August 2026 to 6 June 2027. The duties include teaching courses in visual arts at the institute and teaching basic art education (general curriculum) in visual arts, based on the applicant's skills and strengths. Skills in handicrafts or other teaching subjects are considered an advantage. The teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and organizing the teaching of crafts and arts throughout the municipality of Ii in collaboration with other staff at the institute. The position includes: Own teaching work and other tasks (OVTES: 580 hours of teaching and 350 hours of other work), Supervision of approximately 25 part-time teachers (subject responsibility for visual arts and handicrafts), Planning and development of teaching, Tasks related to competence-based education, Teamwork and collaboration with the regional network, Planning and organizing institute events, Producing marketing materials for courses and events at the institute. You enjoy collaboration and developing new things. You have a positive and engaging work approach, good interaction skills, and a desire to build high-quality and contemporary teaching. You are proficient in information and communication technology and naturally utilize social media in your work. Qualifications are determined according to the law on the qualifications of education personnel (986/1998) and the law on liberal adult education (632/1998).
