Job Description
We are seeking a school supervisor for our school, where you will primarily work with students in grades 1-6 in close collaboration with responsible teachers. As a school supervisor, you help students follow the teaching plan and can explain and clarify instructions. Motivating students to work can be a very valuable task. You are used to being one step ahead and see where help and support are needed. You can set boundaries in a respectful manner. Low-arousal approach is natural for you. You promote children's social skills and can assist with conflict resolution if needed. You find it easy to build relationships with children. You are flexible and attentive in your approach, can follow instructions and guidelines but can also make independent decisions. Collaboration skills are a strength of yours. You speak and write Finnish at a good linguistic level. This position also involves being a contact person for school transports by taxi. Therefore, you also need to be able to speak and write Finnish. The preschool and primary classes have approximately 110 students combined, and currently about 20 students are in the middle school. The primary school is located in Svenska gården in the Anttilanmäki residential area. It is within walking distance to the train, enabling commuting from the capital region. Svenska gården also hosts Folkhälsan's daycare and after-school activities. The middle school is located at Paavola campus in Tiirismaa's Finnish-speaking school. Our school functions as a local school for Swedish-speaking students in the Lahti region. Qualifications required are a school supervisor qualification. Attach your diplomas and other certificates demonstrating your eligibility. If no qualified applicants apply, unqualified candidates will also be considered. The hired person must present a criminal record extract according to the law on background checks for persons working with children (504/2002). A drug test certificate may be requested for the selected candidate. A probation period of four months applies. Work is not offered during school holidays. School holidays are unpaid leave.
