The Rehabilitation Center Kouvola's primary mission is to provide voluntary, around-the-clock detoxification, withdrawal, and rehabilitation care for adult clients with substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Treatment periods range from a few hours (up to five or more months). Our service package includes a detoxification unit, a recovery station, and an A-clinic community (institutional rehabilitation). The main goal of the detoxification unit and recovery station is to safely break the cycle of addiction (including alcohol, medication, and drug detoxification, opioid substitution therapy assessment, initiation, discontinuation, medication switching) and ensure safe recovery. The A-clinic community provides rehabilitative inpatient care for clients with substance dependence and dual diagnosis. We are seeking a counselor for a fixed-term position from June 8, 2026, to August 31, 2026. Main responsibilities As a counselor, you will play an important role as part of a multidisciplinary team, which includes nurses, doctors, and food service staff. Your tasks include monitoring and assessing clients' well-being, administering and evaluating medication, consulting and collaborating with doctors, working as a case manager, leading group activities, working according to the client's care plan with a rehabilitative approach, collaborating within multidisciplinary networks, initiating necessary follow-up and rehabilitation processes, and participating in the planning and development of unit activities with the team. What are the requirements? Practical nurse qualification, hygiene passport, valid medication licenses (can be obtained immediately at the start of employment). Previous experience in mental health and substance abuse is considered an advantage. The position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. What do we offer?
