Job Description

Mäntyharju 4H Association (www.mantyharjun4H.net) is seeking a versatile and creative activity coordinator interested in working with children and youth for the association's 4H youth work. The activity coordinator's duties include planning and implementing group activities such as clubs, camps, events, and other youth activities (guidance), as well as reporting and statistical work. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with the executive director on school cooperation and may substitute for the director if needed. The 4H office is located in the same building as the municipal youth facilities, and group activities are carried out at schools, youth centers, and other locations. We value applicants with: Relevant professional qualification (guidance activities, youth and community worker, children's instructor, school assistant, etc.), enthusiastic work attitude, and motivation to learn new skills. A desire to work with children is essential, and experience in guidance or organizational work is an advantage. Good communication skills, moderate computer skills, and excellent Finnish language skills are essential. A positive attitude and proactive work approach are important. The position will be well oriented. A driver's license and the ability to use a car are desirable but not mandatory. Travel expenses incurred will be reimbursed according to state travel regulations. The work can be done as an entrepreneur/invoicing service or under an employment contract. There is also an opportunity to pursue youth sector apprenticeship studies alongside the work. Salary will follow the guidance sector collective agreement. The work is focused on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday afternoons (children's and youth leisure time). It may include occasional evening and weekend work. The work begins around mid-August/early September 2026, with an initial contract until summer 2027. Extension possible. There is a trial period. The weekly hours are approximately 25-35, depending on the number of group activities per week, and can be tailored to the employee's needs. The position may also suit someone nearing the end of their studies. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract (Criminal Records Act, Section 6, Subsection 2), and drug-free work is required. Please send your applications with CV primarily via email to 4H@mantyharju.fi, or by mail to Mäntyharju 4H, PL 76, 52701 Mäntyharju. For more information, contact the director on weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm at 040-8467387 (not weeks 31-32) or email 4H@mantyharju.fi. You can learn more about 4H activities at www.mantyharjun4H.net. We hope to receive applications by August 12, 2026, but the position will be filled when a suitable candidate is found. Please mention any references in your application.
