Job Description
Your presence is truly important. We are now looking for you, the support and security of the prison, also known as: CORRECTIONAL OFFICER. Helsinki Prison is a closed institution that began operations in 1881. There are 309 prison places and about 190 staff members. The number of prison places at Helsinki Prison will increase in early 2027 after the new cell blocks are completed. After this, the total capacity will be 429 places. Helsinki Prison also has a prison health outpatient clinic. Inmates are placed in the prison based on the decision of the client assessment unit. Your duties include ensuring the smooth running of daily life in the prison. You are also responsible for safety and adherence to rules within the prison. An essential part of surveillance work involves direct interaction, supporting inmates in their daily lives, and guiding them systematically towards a crime-free life. You will be responsible for implementing activities according to the responsible officer model of the prison. Additionally, your tasks include transport and surveillance duties both inside and outside the prison.
