Teacher in Early Childhood Education - Työmarkkinatori - Espoo, Finland

We are looking for a teacher for our language-immersion daycare in Gäddvik. We are a small and cozy daycare with three groups of children; 1-2-year-olds where the language of operation is Finnish, 3-4-year-olds where the language of operation is Swedish, and 5-6-year-olds where the language of operation is Swedish. We are a language-immersion daycare that started in 1990. We operate under a purchase agreement, meaning we are a private daycare whose services are purchased by the City of Espoo. As a teacher, you will work in a team with another teacher and a child caregiver. You will share responsibility with the other teacher for the pedagogy in the group. It is important to us that everyone’s strengths are taken into account, and we work with the idea of utilizing each person’s strengths. We have a positive and strong sense of community where humor is part of everyday life. In language immersion, language is close to our hearts. We work according to the language immersion method, and the goal is for children to become functionally multilingual. Children acquire the Swedish language through play, social interaction, and daily routines. It is important to us that children grow up in a safe and calm environment, where each child can develop at their own pace and where their strengths are recognized. It is also important that children enjoy their time at the daycare and have friends. Our daycare is located near the sea and forest, and we have a large outdoor area where all children can play together. We actively use our beautiful local environment in our activities, e.g., forest activities with the children. All staff know all the children and their families. Our strength is that we all know each other well.
