Special Class Teacher Position - Salon Kaupunki - Salo, Finland

The City of Salo has an open permanent position for a special class teacher at Moisio School in basic education, starting August 1, 2026. Moisio School is a middle school located in the city center. The school has approximately 550 students and nearly 60 staff members. Our guiding principle is to be a shared workplace for both students and staff. Your duties include supporting the learning of middle school students through individual and group support, planning collaboratively with colleagues and families. In the absence of qualified applicants, a non-qualified person may be hired for a fixed-term position of less than one year. The position requires classroom management skills, cooperation ability, initiative, and planning skills. Experience in broad collaboration with special and subject teachers is an advantage. Flexibility and student-centered thinking are also valued. The employer offers the opportunity to participate in a mentoring group for special education teachers, aimed at supporting all special education teachers working in Salo and providing peer support among colleagues. The salary is in accordance with the local collective agreement (OVTES). We also pay a personal allowance to all employees whose employment has lasted over six months. The position is conditional until the selected candidate provides a health certificate and a criminal background check as required by law (Child Criminal Background Check Act 504/2002) within 30 days of the employment decision.
