Daycare Director - Touhula Leikki Oy - Turku, Finland

We are seeking a daycare director for Touhula Varissuo in Turku. Touhula Varissuo is a four-group, sports-themed daycare located on Ohrapäänkatu in eastern Turku. The daycare is situated in a peaceful area, with forests and a fitness trail ideal for outdoor activities starting right outside the building. In addition to physical activity, our operations emphasize cultural diversity. The role of the daycare director requires a self-directed and responsible approach. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality early childhood education, customer and staff satisfaction, personnel management, and operational profitability. You will oversee daily operations and the pedagogical content of the daycare. You will work closely with the team leader and other daycare directors in the region. Additionally, you will receive support from Touhula’s support services. The primary collaboration partners are the daycare’s families and staff. You understand that early childhood education involves close cooperation with families and prioritize customer service when engaging with new and existing families. You support your staff’s excellence in their roles and enable smooth daily operations. The work is dynamic and involves changing situations, requiring flexibility and excellent time management and organizational skills. We expect from you... - Experience in supervisory work or a strong motivation and readiness to develop into an excellent daycare director. - Qualification according to the Early Childhood Education Act. - An enthusiastic attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. - Firmness and resilience to handle challenging situations. - Valid criminal record certificate as required by the Act on Background Checks of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). The employment contract is conditional upon presenting an acceptable criminal record certificate. The law also requires tuberculosis screening for those working with preschool children.
