Job Description
A thoughtful communicator with a strong sense of tone, culture, and storytelling. Do you understand what makes a brand voice resonate online? Do you have a natural instinct for writing, community, and internet culture? Are you deeply familiar with the Moomin world and its audience? We are looking for a Junior Social Media Community Manager to help shape and grow Moomin’s global presence by building meaningful connections with our audience and supporting the day-to-day execution of our social and community strategy. In this role, you will manage day-to-day community engagement across global Moomin social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube), proactively engage with the Moomin community beyond our own channels, including platforms such as Reddit, TikTok, and other online spaces where relevant conversations are happening, write and publish social media copy aligned with Moomin’s tone of voice, respond to comments, messages, and conversations in a thoughtful and brand-appropriate way, support influencer identification, outreach, and seeding, assist with fan mail and community interactions beyond social platforms, support content publishing, scheduling, and campaign rollouts, contribute to reporting and performance tracking, identify community insights, trends, and opportunities for engagement, work closely with the social, creative, and content teams to ensure consistency and quality. We are looking for someone who has strong English writing skills and a natural sensitivity to tone and language, is deeply familiar with the Moomin stories, characters, and fanbase, has a strong interest in social media, internet culture, and online communities, holds a Bachelor’s degree in business, literature, marketing, communications, or a creative field, is detail-oriented, organised, and reliable, is curious, observant, and proactive. No prior work experience is required, but a genuine passion for social media and community is essential. Nice to have: understanding of influencer culture and digital communities, familiarity with social media platforms and basic performance metrics, additional language skills. Please note: This is a fixed-term (1 year), full-time, on-site position based in Helsinki, with the option to work from home one day per week (4 days in the office). We cannot offer full remote work, relocation assistance, or sponsorship for work visas. We offer: a hands-on role at the intersection of community, culture, and storytelling, the opportunity to help shape the voice of a globally recognized brand, ownership and trust (no micromanagement), a supportive, collaborative, and creative team environment. Benefits include: culture and sports benefit, lunch card, phone and phone subscription, monthly physical therapy at the office (after trial period), access to a private on-site gym, occupational healthcare, access to a cottage in Pellinki. How to apply: to apply, please submit your application through the Teamtailor application form by 30 June. Your application should include your CV, links to your social media accounts or indicate which social media platforms you use regularly and are most familiar with. Instead of a traditional cover letter, we would like you to provide a 2–3 minute video introducing yourself and explaining why you would be a great fit for this role. A brief note describing your relationship with the Moomin stories, values, and community. Please note that applications submitted without the video will not be considered. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and will hire as soon as we find the right person, so we encourage you to apply early. If you have any questions about the role, please contact Sofia Rodriguez, Head of Social, sofia.rodriguez@moomin.com.
