Job Description

HUS Cancer Center is Finland's largest and most versatile cancer treatment center, offering personalized cancer care. The center is part of Helsinki University Hospital and is responsible for the treatment of cancer and blood diseases for patients over 16 years old in the Helsinki and Uusimaa hospital district. Additionally, we treat patients from other parts of Finland requiring specialized expertise. In 2025, 36,511 patients were treated at the Cancer Center, of which approximately 11,300 were new patients. The nursing work at the Cancer Center is highly regarded. The nursing work at the Cancer Center has received the prestigious Magnet hospital recognition, the first hospital in Finland and the Nordic countries to do so. Nursing work in a Magnet hospital, such as the Cancer Center, is demonstrably of excellent quality, with professional, satisfied, and committed nurses. Leadership is participatory, and the structures supporting nursing work are in place. There is also an opportunity to participate in a comprehensive cancer nurse training program in collaboration with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The fifth floor of the Cancer Center houses outpatient clinics for lymphoma, lung cancer, and hematology. We are currently hiring two registered nurses for permanent positions at these outpatient clinics, primarily at the hematology and lymphoma outpatient clinics. The positions will be filled permanently starting July 1, 2026, or by agreement. At the outpatient clinics, the nurse is an active part of a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on independent patient guidance and counseling through various communication channels (Maisa messages and telephone service). The task-specific salary ranges from €3,146.75 to €3,192.88 per month (S3TAT100.2-S3TVA100.3), with possible experience and other allowances. Language requirements: - Good spoken and written Finnish. - Satisfactory spoken and written Swedish, or good spoken and written Swedish and satisfactory Finnish. We require vaccination against infectious diseases according to the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in customer and patient facilities, and health status verification for tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units.
