Structural Designer

Despro is seeking a technically skilled and independent Structural Designer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the design of power-line and substation structures and various industrial structures in a team with experienced engineers. Your duties include 3D design and preparation of 2D drawings. Depending on your expertise, you may also perform structural sizing and strength calculations. The role may expand with your input on design methods and tools used. Most projects are closely tied to renewable energy initiatives, increasing demand for electrical substation and power-line investments. Our structural design team operates across Finland with offices in Tampere, Pori, and Oulu and from remote offices as well. Work can be done flexibly in the office or remotely – your location is not decisive. Requirements: relevant technical education (engineer AMK or graduate engineer); experience in designing power-line and substation structures or similar exotic structures; ability to work independently on demanding structural design tasks; proficiency in design and calculation software; ability and willingness to collaborate with diverse stakeholders; accuracy, initiative, and problem-solving ability; fluent Finnish and English. Desirable: experience sizing steel and concrete structures and strength calculations; BIM skills, especially Tekla Structures; GEO design experience.
