In this position, you will lead Vantaa City's ICT architecture work and set a direction that impacts both residents' daily lives and organizational decision-making. Your focus is on preliminary planning: clarifying the overall picture, establishing the foundation for ICT roadmaps, and helping to shape investment plans for the coming years in line with strategy and operational development. As the Chief Architect, you will ensure that architecture plans and descriptions are up-to-date and that the overall architecture (infrastructure, systems, data, and operational layers) functions technically together. You will compile current and target state descriptions into understandable entities, drive them forward purposefully, and monitor technological developments to enable the city to make timely and sustainable choices. You will also support procurement success: translating needs from various sectors into concrete requirements and aligning them with technical environment requirements, information security, and data protection considerations. You will not do this alone: you will lead the ICT architecture team and be a team leader for ICT architects in daily work. You will develop the city's architecture models and capabilities, advise experts, and ensure that the common way of working supports objectives. Your daily work also involves impactful stakeholder work: building trust with different sectors, providing strong support for ICT procurements, and collaborating closely with partners to keep the overall manageable despite conflicting expectations. You will succeed best if you have a suitable higher university degree and extensive experience in leading architecture work and practical enterprise architecture work. You have the ability to see the big picture, make justified choices, and see projects through in collaboration with various experts. You value clear principles but can adapt them to situations, especially when requirements come from multiple directions, and the overall must remain safe, interoperable, and feasible.
