Job Description
The application period for the position of Early Childhood Education Manager at the City of Orivesi is extended. Orivesi seeks a skilled and enthusiastic leader to manage and develop early childhood education. We value good communication and leadership skills, as well as a comprehensive and participatory approach to developing early childhood education. The ideal candidate should have leadership experience, strong financial and public administration skills, and an interest in and knowledge of early childhood education pedagogy. The Early Childhood Education Manager acts as the supervisor of the early childhood education division and is responsible for personnel management, general administration, and pedagogical leadership within the division. The role also includes oversight and supervision of private early childhood education providers. In the future, the responsibilities of the early childhood education unit manager may be added to the role if the number of children decreases. The manager is part of the Education and Culture Services management team and works closely with the heads of early childhood education units, primary school principals, administrative staff, and the Director of Education and Culture. Orivesi is part of the Tampere metropolitan area, and the manager participates in regional working groups. The position of Early Childhood Education Manager is a permanent appointment starting August 1, 2026, with a six-month probation period. Applicants must have a suitable higher education degree and qualifications as a daycare center director in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018, Section 31). Orivesi is easily accessible by public transportation, located right along Highway 9. There are also good train connections to Tampere and Jämsä, with convenient transfer options from the train station to the city center. Original educational and employment certificates must be presented at the interview if applicable. The selection process may include external personnel assessments. The appointee must provide a criminal background check as required by law (504/2002) and a health certificate from Työterveys Pirte Oy before starting the position.
