Job Description
We are seeking a school psychologist for a position in student welfare services in Liminka. The school psychologist's task is to promote and support students' school attendance, learning, and well-being. The work includes individual and community-based student welfare work, as well as conducting psychological assessments and examinations. The responsibilities include, for example, providing individual support and guidance related to learning and well-being, assessing learning difficulties, participating in multidisciplinary expert team work, and engaging in community work at educational institutions. In Pohde, school psychologists are placed with student welfare staff in responsibility units within the student welfare services. A responsibility unit may include several municipalities. Additionally, you will be part of Pohde's extensive psychologist network. The responsible psychologist at Pohde supports the development of school psychologists' work and provides professional guidance when needed. We offer you an interesting role in a strongly developing student welfare environment, in a development-oriented work community, with opportunities for regular supervision and training. We can also negotiate solutions for work-life balance tailored to you, such as partial remote work, flexible working hours, and/or utilization of flexitime. At Pohde, employee well-being is central. We offer comprehensive occupational health services that support work capacity, including basic health care services. Epassi benefits and diverse recreational activities organized by Vapari Association bring joy to everyday life. The qualification requirement for the school psychologist position is a license issued in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/1994). If qualified applicants are not available, a student in the final stages of psychology studies may be appointed temporarily. We will verify original degree and employment certificates from shortlisted candidates. Applicants must be registered in the register maintained by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Terhikki and/or Suosikki). The appointee must present a criminal record extract as specified in section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (2002/504). Before starting the position, the selected candidate must submit a medical certificate of health status (Act on Municipal and Well-being Services Personnel 7 §). We observe a probationary period of up to 6 months in employment relationships. Regarding vaccination protection, we follow the legal requirements for vaccination against infectious diseases. As an employer, we value diversity in work communities and hope to recruit employees from various backgrounds. We are committed to promoting equality and non-discrimination.
