Planning Manager

We are looking for a planning manager to join our team for data center projects and other power-distribution demanding projects. This role entails versatile leadership tasks in electricity and data center projects; you will assist and guide project managers through project execution and be responsible for the management of the design process, development of operating procedures and tools. You will also act as the technical quality assurer for projects, ensuring the quality, feasibility and safety of technical solutions. You will participate in projects in their early stages—bidding activities and preliminary analyses and handover to the project manager when the project materializes. Your main task is to help the project manager navigate everyday challenges, and you will get full support from management and colleagues to brainstorm solutions and challenges weekly. We are Sweco: large company capabilities with the agility of a small firm. A broad project portfolio lets you build a career in data center, industrial or building technology projects, or a combination of those. We work nationwide, and you can operate from several locations. We especially welcome someone based in one of the larger centers such as Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Kuopio, Jyväskylä, Vaasa or Oulu. The job will require some travel. Requirements include substantial experience in electrical design leadership for data center projects and understanding of the requirements of project management for demanding projects. You have a relevant higher education degree (AMK or university) in electrical engineering and good Finnish and English language skills. Desirable: knowledge of substation and HV projects, cost awareness of electrical contracts, and knowledge of BIM-based methods (Revit). You appreciate the value of collaboration and can build a trusting and effective design team. You will encounter conflicts calmly and solution-oriented, and you are genuinely keen to work with customers and other stakeholders, open to learning.
