Job Description
FORCIT is a leading manufacturer of explosives and defense systems, providing related services. We are seeking an experienced data specialist to join our industrial R&D team. In this role, you will work across measurement and sensor domains to develop advanced signal processing and analysis methods for underwater applications. Data streams may originate from hydrophone, magnetometer, or pressure sensor measurements of various actuators. The role emphasizes long-term R&D work combining data analysis, algorithm development, and understanding of physical phenomena in underwater environments. You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and application experts to translate research results into practical, production-ready solutions. Key responsibilities include designing and developing advanced signal processing algorithms for acoustic, magnetic, and pressure sensor data; analyzing large, noisy, and incomplete time series data from real underwater measurement environments; researching and prototyping new methods such as filtering, spectral and time-frequency analysis, detection, classification, and estimation; integrating physical models and domain knowledge with data-driven methods; validating algorithms with simulations, laboratory measurements, and field data; supporting the transfer of algorithms from research to industrial and operational applications; documenting methods, assumptions, and results clearly for internal use and external reporting; participating in defining R&D guidelines, technology roadmaps, and research priorities; acting as a technical expert and mentor for less experienced team members.
