Savonlinna is undergoing rapid renewal. The city is currently involved in and preparing numerous infrastructure investments, including streets, bridges, harbors, parks, and other projects, aimed at building a more functional, pleasant, and vibrant city. As a Construction Engineer, you will participate in the preparation, construction, and supervision of the city's investment projects. You will act as the client's representative and work closely with designers, contractors, consultants, and the city's own staff. Your tasks include, among others: - Preparation and project management of investment projects - Guidance of design - Preparation of requests for proposals and procurement documents - Preparation and monitoring of contracts and consulting agreements - Site supervision and quality assurance - Documentation and reporting of projects - Safety coordination tasks for the client in investment projects - Supporting the preparation of the investment program. Projects relate to streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, harbors, parks, bridges, and other city infrastructure. We expect applicants to have: - A degree in civil engineering, urban engineering, or another relevant field (students in final stages of their studies may also be considered) - Practical experience in infrastructure construction, construction management, or site supervision - A valid driving license (B). We especially value experience in: - Construction management or site supervision - Infrastructure construction - Design guidance - Public procurement - Contract and consulting agreements - Project management. The salary for the Construction Engineer position is €3,189.15/month, with additional professional allowances based on previous experience. The working hours are standard 38.25 hours/week. Employment terms are governed by the Municipal Sector's technical staff collective agreement (TS). A three-month probation period applies. This is a fixed-term position for six months to support the implementation of the city's extensive investment program, with the goal to start from August 2026.
