Lead Designer

Lead Designer, basic design for Deck Outfitting at Helsinki Shipyard. You will oversee the deck outfitting design tasks across the shipbuilding project life cycle. The Deck Design team works on systems such as mooring, lifeboat, and deck crane systems. A typical day includes delegating and overseeing design- and procurement-related work, coordinating with other designers and production specialists. You will report progress, procurement, and budget updates to the project manager and head of department, and help prepare budgets and resource needs. Our team of about 200 designers collaborates with customers and classification societies. Requirements: experience in marine industry or shipbuilding; technical background in project business; proficiency in AutoCAD or similar; project management or coordination skills; technical education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.); English operation with international clients and suppliers.
