Job Description
Come and do meaningful youth work in Tuusula! We are hiring two (2) part-time youth workers, 20 hours per week (53%), for permanent positions in Tuusula's youth services. In the fall of 2026, a new youth space will open in Hyrylä as part of a new shopping center, and we are now looking for enthusiastic and development-oriented professionals to join the Hyrylä team to create a safe, inclusive, and meaningful meeting place for young people. The activities of youth services support the growth, development, and participation of young people through preventive and targeted youth work. The youth worker's tasks are diverse and involve working in various environments such as youth centers, schools, and young people's own activity and hobby environments within the Tuusula area. Key responsibilities include engaging with young people, strengthening participation, and planning and implementing diverse leisure activities. The youth worker's duties include ideation, planning, preparation, and execution of youth activities and hobbies in collaboration with young people, other youth workers, and partners. Your tasks will include guiding youth center activities, engaging with and supporting young people in daily life, and promoting youth participation and influence. We expect you to: - Have experience working with young people - Possess good communication and collaboration skills - Be proactive and have a development-oriented approach - Be able to work with a diverse range of young people and adapt to changing situations A valid driver's license and the ability to travel for work are considered an advantage. The working hours are 20 hours per week (53%). The work is mainly evening shifts and includes some weekend work. The qualification requirement is a relevant professional degree such as youth and leisure instructor, youth and community instructor, community pedagogue (Bachelor of Social Services), or other suitable education. The position requires the selected candidate to provide a criminal record extract in accordance with section 6, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act before starting employment. Salary: €2628.21 per month, prorated for part-time work; additional pay based on previous work experience may apply. The terms of employment are governed by the Municipal General Collective Agreement (KVTES). The employment is permanent and begins on August 15, 2026, or as agreed.
