Job Description

Enfuce is a European issuer processor and regulated EMI working with banks, fintechs, financial institutions and enterprise customers across Europe. We operate in a sophisticated regulatory environment and support complex, high-value commercial arrangements. We are seeking a commercially astute financial services lawyer with proven experience negotiating complex agreements with regulated institutions. Applications that do not meet the essential qualification and sector experience criteria will not be considered. This is not a narrow advisory role. You will be embedded in the business, leading negotiations, shaping deal structures and helping drive growth while ensuring risk remains within the company’s defined risk appetite. This role suits lawyers who already operate at a high level of commercial autonomy and are comfortable taking ownership of complex, high-value negotiations. This is not a training role. You must be comfortable acting as the primary legal lead on complex commercial negotiations. What You'll Be Doing: Lead Commercial Contracting: You will take ownership of complex customer, vendor and partner agreements, including: Card-as-a-Service and processing agreements. Outsourcing and services arrangements in a regulated financial services context. Vendor and technology contracts. Partnership and collaboration agreements. NDAs and ancillary documentation. You will: Lead and run commercial negotiations alongside Sales and senior stakeholders Advise on risk allocation (liability, indemnities, SLAs, audit rights, subcontracting, termination and exit structures) Support RFP processes and strategic deal structuring Manage amendments, change requests and contract lifecycle matters Handle non-performance situations, including demand letters and termination notices You will regularly negotiate with sophisticated counterparties, including Tier 1 banks, regulated institutions and established fintechs. Operate in a Regulated Environment: You will work within a financial services framework and advise on the contractual implications of outsourcing in a regulated environment. Support interpretation of legal and regulatory requirements as they impact commercial arrangements. Work closely with Risk & Compliance, including support on regulatory filings and supervisory matters where relevant. Deep prior payments or e-money expertise is not required, but financial services exposure is essential. Contribute to Legal Function Development: Develop and refine contract templates and negotiation playbooks. Improve contract lifecycle processes and internal knowledge sharing. Act as a trusted internal adviser across departments. Contribute to building a scalable, high-performing legal function aligned with business objectives. This is a role for someone who wants to shape how legal operates, not simply execute tasks. What You'll Bring: Qualified Solicitor (UK), Rechtsanwalt (Germany) or Abogado (Spain), admitted and in good standing. Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience. Experience at an internationally recognised commercial law firm or leading national firm is strongly preferred. Demonstrable experience negotiating complex commercial agreements in the financial services sector.
