Job Description
Our school will start in August 2026 at the new Myllypohja multi-purpose building Vireessä, where vitality is visible in everyday life: we have enthusiasm and the power of working together. We are looking for a supervisor who values a positive atmosphere, collaboration, and a proactive approach. Alasenjärvi Basic School offers a versatile learning environment for elementary school students, both in general education and in classroom-based special education, serving approximately 440 students. The multi-purpose building also houses Ahtiala Library and Alasenjärvi Daycare. Our facilities enable flexible, groupable, and pedagogically adaptable teaching spaces. In our operational culture, we want to support working together, doing activities, and encounters during the school day. Your work includes supporting students in various situations during the school day, such as in lessons, transitions, and interaction situations. We hope for flexibility and innovation in your work and solutions, as well as a willingness and ability to work in a team. Your success is supported by an enthusiastic attitude, strong interaction skills, and suitability for the work community, which also influence the selection decision. The position mainly involves special support groups with flexible teaching arrangements. We require the applicant to have at least a suitable secondary education degree (e.g., school assistant, practical nurse specializing in children and youth, youth worker, or children and youth special instructor training) or a vocational qualification in school supervision. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check as required by law 504/2002. A certificate regarding drug testing may be requested. The position is subject to a 4-month probation period. During school holidays, the employer is not obligated to provide work. These holiday periods are unpaid leave.
