Software Developer (AI), Part-time - Valuatum Oy - Helsinki, Finland

Would you like to be involved in building future financial software using artificial intelligence? Valuatum is seeking a part-time software developer for its technical team who is enthusiastic about AI-assisted software development and eager to learn quickly in a rapidly changing field. We extensively utilize AI in both development and our products, so we are looking for someone for whom this way of working is natural. Additionally, we expect the applicant to have an understanding of software architecture and the ability to build production-ready applications from scratch. Our compact technical team ensures you have the opportunity to work on diverse tasks and responsibilities from the start. Our main system is a Java-based credit risk and equity research platform, but the role also involves other technologies. Prior experience in the financial sector is not required; a willingness to learn is sufficient. Note: We are looking for a software developer who can utilize AI effectively. This is a technical role, and experience with AI programming alone is not enough. The candidate must understand the code they produce line by line, be able to critically evaluate AI-generated solutions, and correct them if necessary. Requirements - Skills in Java and Python programming - Understanding of web application development - Experience with Docker - Experience with AI tools in software development (other than ChatGPT) - Fluent communication in Finnish and English - Relevant educational background or practical experience - Ability to work independently Preferred qualifications - Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS) - Experience in developing machine learning models - Skills in other programming languages or frameworks - Previous work experience in a similar area We offer - Flexible part-time work, with hours adjusted to your needs (e.g., alongside studies) - Salary based on skills and experience, €2200-€5000/month (full-time equivalent, adjusted according to agreed workload) - Office located near Herttoniemi metro station (about 10 minutes by metro from Kamppi) - Start date according to the applicant’s preference.
