About the role: Within the Shopify Legal Team, the Compliance Team ensures Shopify meets regulatory and contractual commitments while staying agile to support growth. We are scaling our Compliance Program to match increased obligations across lending compliance, AML/BSA, and other areas. Role Overview: A broad compliance role owning day-to-day responsibilities for some of Shopify's financial products, including testing and monitoring, reporting, and responding to partner requests. You will help develop and maintain policies across AML, KYC and Sanctions and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency using AI and automation. Nice to Have: Familiarity with AML, KYC, or sanctions compliance; AI/automation experience; data analytics skills (SQL, Excel). About Shopify: we are 8,300+ employees and growing. Requirements
- Foundational experience in compliance, audit, risk, or related function with exposure to financial services, fintech, or payments
- Proven track record in compliance monitoring, testing, and/or audit activities
- Strong ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Fast, self-directed learner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative, data-driven approach to solving problems
